UniMac Expands Product Range With New 200-Pound Tumble Dryer

Machine increases efficiency in operations with greater capacity, additional features
UniMac®, a leading provider of on-premises laundry equipment, has expanded its product offering with the introduction of the UT200, a 200-pound tumble dryer.

“The UT200 is just one example of UniMac’s commitment to increasing our customers’ satisfaction by offering a comprehensive range of equipment with innovative features that help on-premises laundries operate more cost-effectively,” said Bill Brooks, North American Sales Manager for UniMac. “The 200-pound tumble dryer will allow operators to improve throughput and increase savings, ensuring the lowest cost of ownership.”

With the addition of the UT200, UniMac has one of the most extensive lines of on-premises tumble dryers in the industry, with capacities from 25 to 200 pounds, including 30- and 45-pound capacity stacked models.

The UT200 not only has an extra-large capacity, it provides superior efficiency with a high-performance heater box. Sealed cylinder rims and a concentrated airflow pattern ensure no heat escapes, helping to keep utility costs down and to maximize productivity. The self-cleaning lint screen means fast, efficient lint removal from the tumble dryer’s large storage area.

UniMac also offers its Combustion Auto Response Equipped (CARE) system as an added option for the UT200. CARE monitors for excessive cylinder temperatures and sprays water on the load should it register an abnormally high reading. A “system active” signal can also be sent to a property’s alarm system, laptop or another electronic device to notify the laundry or facility manager.

The UT200 is equipped with the UniLinc™ control system, which helps laundry operators stay in control of their business. It enables operators to monitor data and performance indicators, and pinpoint areas where there can be increased efficiency or decreased operating costs that are associated with labor, linen replacement, utilities and maintenance.

With UniLinc, reversing technology is standard on the UT200. Reversing technology allows the machine to stop, pause and then switch direction. This helps reduce the balling or roping of large articles, such as sheets, comforters and tablecloths, while they are being dried. Balling or roping causes the center of the linen to be less dry than the outside. The reversing feature provides consistent and even drying of the laundry.

Additionally, OPTidry™ over-dry prevention technology is optional. OPTidry precisely monitors the level of linen dryness. Baffles are used as sensors and provide pinpoint moisture readings throughout the entire load. When the tumble dryer has achieved the pre-set level of dryness, it shuts off automatically. This eliminates inefficient energy use and reduces processing time, helping to lower both labor and utility costs.

With OPTidry, linens experience 31 percent less fiber loss compared to fabrics dried without the technology, which allows laundry managers to spend less money on linen replacement. By using the UniLinc control system, OPL operators will see savings on their energy and labor costs, as well as extended linen life.
