October Brings New Learning Opportunities for Members
In addition to offering four weekly member meetings in October, The Drycleaning & Laundry Institute will present two, one-hour programs on the potential dangers of PFAS contamination and how to get started cleaning non-traditional items like patio cushions. PFAS chemicals are not used in the drycleaning process but they can arrive in plants on cleanable items and potentially cause contamination. It is still unclear who will bear responsibility for cleanup. On October 5, DLI presents an in-depth view of the issue and what cleaners can do to protect their businesses. On October 19, industry Marketing Coach Dave Coyle of Maverick Drycleaners will present a how-to guide to get viewers going from zero revenue in this category to professional levels in an eight-week step-by-step plan. Members will not want to miss this opportunity to net revenue from alternate sources to bolster their bottom lines.

In addition to providing regular virtual learning opportunities, DLI will continue hosting weekly Peer-to-Peer Member Zoom meetings every Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Eastern in October to bring members together. “DLI believes in the value of peer-to-peer learning,” said Mary Scalco, DLI’s CEO. “Our weekly meetings are where DLI member cleaners share ideas and find ways to improve their businesses. Participants tell me they find these meetings very valuable, since both large and small operators share their experiences and learn from each other,” she said.
