The full membership of the North American Restoration Dry Cleaners (NARD) convened for an all day meeting during the national PLRB conference recently held in Boston, Massachusetts. While the group had a full agenda, one of the priority items included discussion of the importance of properly vetting prospective members, ensuring that only the most qualified and experienced candidates continue to be considered for membership. “Now that NARD is closing in on having national coverage, we have been receiving a higher volume of applications, many from operators located in some of the less populated regions of the country. There was consensus at the meeting that we remain true to the rigorous vetting process that has really set us apart and been instrumental in our ascendance as a key player in the textile restoration industry nationally,” said NARD President, Mark Folzenlogen, owner of A-1 Cleaners in Cincinnati, Ohio. “Our membership consists of industry leaders and folks that have been taking care of families in crisis for many years, and we’re just not willing to jeopardize our reputation by allowing lesser skilled and inexperienced operators into the network. It’s that simple,” he remarked.
