The Southwest Drycleaners Association (SDA) has announced that conference registration and housing opened January 2nd for its April 25th – 27th Cleaners Showcase in Fort Worth. Links to both may be found on the association website: www.sda-dryclean.com.
The Fort Worth Sheraton is the host hotel and is located across the street from the convention center, where more than 100 exhibit booths have already been reserved. The list of exhibitors is also available on the website.
“I am thrilled that this year we are partnering with the Texas Coin Laundry Association,” said Showcase Chairman Allan Cripe. “This co-sponsorship will make the event larger than ever, and along with the educational sessions we are planning, we expect this to be the can’t-miss event of the year for our industry.”
The Keynote Speaker of Showcase is Douglas S. Ewert, Chief Executive Officer and President of The Men’s Wearhouse, Inc., where he has served in various capacities since 1995. The title of Ewert’s address is, “Fashion Trends and the Outlook for the Clothing Industry.” The Men’s Wearhouse has been in the news throughout 2013, including whether it would be purchased by, or purchase, the 108-year-old Jos. A. Bank Company.
“A little business intrigue can’t help but attract those of us who are in this industry for the long haul,” Cripe said. “Ewert’s message about what we need to know about the products we will be cleaning reminds me of Gretzky telling us that we need to skate to where the puck is going to be.”
