The Southwest Drycleaners Association (SDA) announces Shreveport-Bossier, Louisiana as the destination for its 2018 Cleaners Showcase, to be held April 5th – 7th, 2018.
Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau, Hilton Shreveport and Shreveport Convention Center are excited to be the selected hosts for the 2018 Cleaners Showcase
“Affordability and accessibility weighed heavily in the decision to host the Showcase in Shreveport-Bossier” said Showcase Chairman Allen Cripe. “This destination is easily accessible by car to markets with a large SDA membership base. Those markets include Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana. It is important for the conference destination to also be an affordable travel destination. Missouri, for example, is home to many SDA members. We anticipate that flights from St. Louis to Shreveport will be taken advantage of by conference attendees. Members in Kansas and New Mexico will find it easy to fly in, as well as exhibitors from across the nation.”
Shreveport is conveniently located in the northwest corner of the state where I-20 and I-49 meet, only three hours East of Dallas, three hours West of Jackson and three hours South of Little Rock. Shreveport Regional Airport has five airlines serving six nonstop flight to hundreds of cities: American Airlines, Allegiant, Delta and United are included.
The SDA Showcase committee has also decided to change the pattern dates of the show in an effort to follow this year’s survey requests by exhibitors and attendees. The Cleaners Showcase dates will change from Friday –Sunday to Thursday through Saturday, April 3rd – 7th, 2018. The Opening Sneak Peek will be held on Thursday evening. Friday and Saturday will feature a full day of exhibits and workshops.
“We polled our exhibitors and attendees and the call to have a more concise show was a prevailing theme. We listened and have made the changes our members and associates want,” said Cripe. “We are also very excited about the move to Shreveport. SDA serves eight states and we are making this move to be more centrally located in our region.”
The Shreveport Hilton will be the host hotel and is connected directly to the Shreveport convention center. Shreveport has lots to offer visitors, including casinos, riverboats, nightlife, art, museums, great restaurants and incredible shopping.
Booth sales and sponsorship opportunities will be available in 2017. Watch the SDA website for more details coming soon on the website.
