Lapels Dry Cleaning, an innovative, environmentally friendly dry cleaning company headquartered in Hanover, Massachusetts, recently named Dave Wood as its Franchise Owner of the Year for 2015. Wood owns the Lapels Dry Cleaning of Littleton, Colorado located at 6709 West Coal Mine Avenue.

That starts with his efforts in the community, his early and enthusiastic adoption of new and greener cleaning methods and technology and extends to how he reaches out to new franchise owners and offers advice and encouragement,” said Kevin Dubois, CEO of Lapels Dry Cleaning. “We congratulate him as a very worthy winner of Lapels Dry Cleaning’s Franchise Owner of the Year honors for 2015.”
For winning Franchise Owner of the Year, Wood received a trophy and cash award, presented by Dubois.
Prior to opening Lapels, Wood worked in corporate America for 30 years. Desiring more time at home—his job had him traveling 80 percent of the time—he researched a number of dry cleaning franchises. He liked what Lapels had to offer with its greener approach to dry cleaning. He opened the Lapels Dry Cleaning of Littleton plant in 2010.
“First, I’m extremely grateful for being named Franchise Owner of the Year. Knowing many of the other owners, this is indeed an honor,” said Wood. “Owning your own business can be very humbling. I have been at this for almost six years and I feel I learn something every day. It’s also enabled me to become more a part of the community and that’s had its own blessings.”
Lapels Dry Cleaning of Littleton has coordinated a number of charitable endeavors during its six-year history. Those include: a hanger recycling program with the proceeds going to a local food pantry; donating abandoned clothing to local homeless shelters; free American flag cleaning and disposal service; free military uniform cleaning and free cleaning for veteran’s hats.
