Kärcher Pitches In On Colorado Flood Clean Up Efforts

Colorado businesses have stepped up in big ways and small to assist the communities across Colorado impacted by the recent historic flooding. Now, as communities look toward recovery and rebuilding, German-based Kärcher, a global leader in cleaning technology with U.S. headquarters in Denver, has donated 250 pressure washers to the clean up effort.

“There are four critical areas in the flood recovery process: Housing, transportation and cleanup. This gift greatly impacts the fourth area – and often times the most time consuming piece – the clean up,” said Erin Mounsey, executive directory of the Northern Colorado Chapter of the Red Cross. “We knew once those pressure washers hit the ground what a unique asset we had and what a tremendous difference it would make. Kärcher also generously donated $10,000 in cash to the effort. We are so grateful to all of the companies who have supported us.”

Kärcher joined forces with several volunteer organizations that helped to clean up hundreds of properties. Teams of four were trained how to use the pressure washers and then they were sent to homes that were in most need of flood clean up. The volunteers then left the pressure washer in each family’s home as a gift from Kärcher.

A tradition for more than 30 years, Kärcher has donated its services to clean some of the world’s most high-profile structures, including the Seattle Space Needle, Mount Rushmore and the Bradendburg Gate in Berlin.
