Executives rolled up their sleeves to cook breakfast honoring volunteers
More than 1,000 toys for underprivileged children were donated to the Salvation Army Greater Houston Area Command Angel Tree program, courtesy of MW Cleaners’ recent 2015 MW Cares Toy Drive for Angels. Executives and staff from the premier dry cleaners arrived at the Salvation Army Center with a van full of toys and a fully loaded breakfast area, where members of the senior executive team rolled up their sleeves to cook for volunteers, the Salvation Army, and the Harbor Light Choir, the Salvation Army’s renowned musical group that also provided holiday cheer for the event.
As part of the MW Cares initiative, staff at the 35 Houston-area MWCleaners locations adopted more than 100 “angels” – children in need – and provided them with toys. Additionally, drop-off stations were established at each of the locations for generous MW Cleaners customers to donate new, unwrapped toys for the drive. Enough toys were collected to fill seven enormous crates at the Salvation Army Center, ensuring that hundreds of children had a Merry Christmas.
MW Cleaners has established itself as a significant presence in each of the communities covered by its 35 stores in the Houston area and 13 locations in the Austin area. Along with its corporate philosophy of community engagement, the company places emphasis on customer service that includes free pickup and delivery service
