Manufacturing is alive and well in New Jersey. Celebrating over 70 years of business, Kenilworth, New Jersy based White Conveyors is recognized as a worldwide leader of automated garment sorting, storage and retrieval systems. Since its formation in 1944, White has delivered a full complement of solutions to increase the productivity of clients in the Hotel/Casino, Correctional Institution, Retail, Dry Cleaning Industry and high end residential markets.
The year was 1944 when White Conveyor’s founders had a very bright vision of the future: to revolutionize the garment storage and handling industry through innovation. Behind that vision was a drive to relentlessly pursue both process and product advancements that would dramatically improve their customer’s efficiency.
From a humble start in a modest facility in Newark, New Jersey, the business manufactured accessories for the dry cleaning and garment industries. With the development of the garment storage conveyor in 1949, the company’s growth was both dramatic and consistent. In 1956, White was awarded a patent for the Consec-U-Veyor garment storing and retrieval system which revolutionized the industry. By 1967, White’s product line had evolved to meet the growing needs of customers beyond the dry cleaning industry into the hospitality, hospital, correctional and large retailers. The New Jersey based company soon started selling its products overseas.
In the Fall of 2004, White Conveyors expanded the Kenilworth facilities to encompass a total of 90,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space. The build out of the facility enabled the company to service it’s growing customer base world-wide, increase manufacturing capacity, stock standard spare parts and provide responsive customer service.
In 2008, White’s growth continued, acquiring Speed Check Conveyor in Decatur, Georgia as part of the White family to serve the specific needs of the commercial laundry industry.
Today, White Conveyors solutions are propelling productivity worldwide. To date, White has installed over 75,000 conveyors in the US and throughout the world.
The drive to adapt and grow has defined White’s progress over the years. “Over the past 70 years, White has excelled by being at the forefront of innovative technology and delivering superior solutions” says Mary Speckhart, President of White. “Our success has been built on a professional business strategy of continual investment in the best technology and people. While White has enjoyed a brilliant past, we are also looking forward to a bright and exciting future. And we are proud to do this in the great State of New Jersey.”
With so many significant changes in technology, White’s long history and global standing is a testament to the company’s longevity and promising future
