After more than a decade of dedicated service and leadership, Ellen Tuchman Rothmann has announced her retirement as President of Tuchman Advisory Group (TAG).
Reflecting on her remarkable journey, Rothmann stated, “One of the great joys of my life has been my involvement in the dry cleaning industry. My father, the legendary Sid Tuchman, owned Tuchman Cleaners which operated 35 plants and drop stores in Indianapolis, IN. Following the sale of his business in 1986, my dad established a consulting business, and it was my honor and pleasure to step in and continue growing his good work through TAG.” Sid Tuchman received the Drycleaning & Laundry Institute’s Diamond Achievement Award in 2011 and was recently inducted into their Hall of Fame for his invaluable achievements and lasting impact to the industry.
Michael Jones, Highland Cleaners in Louisville, KY says, “The members of TAG group are deeply grateful for Ellen’s steady guidance for the last ten years. Her warm and intelligent leadership of the group was a fitting legacy to her father. We wish our friend a happy and well-deserved retirement.”
Ben Combs, Judi’s Cleaners in Sacramento, CA remarks, “As a TAG Member I can definitely say that Ellen has been truly dedicated to us and the industry. During the early months of Covid she instituted weekly zoom meetings and was genuinely concerned about the weekly progress of each member. She tracked each member’s progress on PPP applications, sales progress, etc. I can genuinely say that without her weekly call, realizing we were in this together, it would have been so much more difficult. I will never forget the gestures during that period. Ellen didn’t charge us a dime during the pandemic. I am still amazed at the personal sacrifice she made to make sure we succeeded; it is the definition of leadership. TAG has lost a champion and we are grateful.”
As Rothmann embarks on this new chapter of her life the decision to retire is met with both pride and regret. She leaves behind a legacy of excellence and many contributions to the dry cleaning industry. Rothmann further expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity to work alongside some of the finest and most successful dry cleaners in the business. “I will cherish the relationships and friendships with my esteemed colleagues which I know will continue for many years to come. It has been an honor to be part of a team of exceptional business professionals,” she stated with warmth.
