NCA Texcare 2013 Set For October

NCA’s Biennial Trade Show and Exhibit, TEXCARE 2013 is once again coming to the Meadowlands Expo Center just outside of New York City, in Secaucus, New Jersey this October 19th – 20th, 2013.

According to the show’s co-coordinator, NCA’s Director of Special Projects, Ann Hargrove, this year’s show will be bigger and better than ever. “Free admission and free parking are not the only reasons Texcare has such a great dry cleaner turn out, we also have just about every industry manufacturer or supplier a dry cleaner could ever need on the show floor. It’s a great opportunity for cleaners to find new vendors and ideas, or simply cement bonds with existing suppliers.”

The New York area location also has an appeal for many cleaners from other parts of the country as well. “Autumn in New York is a great time,” says Executive Director Nora Nealis, “which makes this the perfect opportunity for cleaners from other parts of the country to combine a great investment in their business by attending Texcare with a NYC holiday courtesy of that business.” When asked what’s the farthest away anyone has ever traveled to attend, Nealis responded, “Odessa, Russia. And no one was more surprised than we were!”

In addition to all the live demonstrations and new products and services on the show floor, the NCA has planned a very strong and relevant educational program. This year, NCA members’ interests and the real world problems and concerns they’ve been facing in their own businesses are driving Texcare’s educational program. The seminars (which are free to NCA members) will be focused on Obamacare, Employee Problems, Attracting New Customers, Making More Money, and Problem Garments. “Although pundits say that the economy is coming back, cleaners are still faced with the problems associated with actually making money and then protecting the money they’ve made, so that’s where the seminar topics are designed to help them,” says NCA Board of Directors President Bob (Sultan) Saeed.

The pre-show event, an all day educational seminar on Friday, October 18th is also generating a lot of excitement. This year, NCA is featuring a small retail businessman from Ohio, who was recommended to them by member Stephen Weiss of La France Cleaners in Ohio. Mr. Weiss couldn’t say enough good things about business consultant Claude Whitacre, CEO of Local Profit Geyser (LPG), and the positive difference he had made to Weiss’ own cleaning business, and the association decided Whitacre’s message deserved to be shared with other cleaners. Claude’s story is unique in that he developed a second business (LPG) in order to share the successful marketing ideas, strategies and tactics he used to build his own small business (a retail vacuum store called The Sweeper). So this is a classic case of an expert who is successfully practicing what he preaches.

The other featured presenter is a return engagement of one of Texcare’s most successful pre-event seminar speakers, Jason Loeb of Sudsies.com in Miami, Florida. In addition to building his own mom and pop Laundromat /Dry Cleaning business, into a multi-million dollar operation, Loeb has adopted some revolutionary marketing strategies and service enhancements that he’ll be sharing during his presentation, namely his couture cleaning service. Getting existing customers to spend more money is one of the few ways to grow sales, and Jason has capitalized on that notion with his premium priced service niche. The who, what, when, where, why, how and how big a difference it’s made to his bottom line will all be laid out in Jason’s usual tell-all style. Once again, a successful entrepreneur who has been there, done that and is prepared to help you do the same.

For out-of-towners, The Meadowlands location makes it easily accessible from all NYC’s major airports (including JFK, LaGuardia and Newark), as well as NYC Penn Station (Amtrak), and the special convention rates available at the Embassy Suites and Holiday Inn (located across the street from the convention center), make the weekend especially affordable.
