Wins 2020 CINET Global Best Practices Award for Retail Textile Cleaning Florida-based cleaners is the first business in North America to receive the coveted international award
Oceanside Cleaners, a family owned and operated business serving the Jacksonville community, announced it won two top awards at the 2020 CINET Global Best Practices Awards (GBPA), including “Overall Best” globally for retail textile cleaning and “Best of Country” among U.S. companies. The Overall Best Practices Award, Category A is the GBPA program’s top recognition for small and medium-sized enterprises worldwide. Oceanside Cleaners is the first business in North America to win this award.
This year’s GBPA program was streamed online November 4 – 5 from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Awards eligibility is based on nomination and evaluation by a pre-jury committee, resulting in an Official Nominations list of 120 extraordinary professional textile care companies from across the globe. An international, independent jury evaluated the official nominees and selected 45 finalists.
The jury selected Oceanside Cleaners for its two first place awards based on the company’s superior quality of service, sustainable eco-friendly processes and innovative business model.
“We are incredibly honored by these awards. As a family owned and operated business, we know that our business practices are a direct reflection of ourselves,” said Michael Harris, half of the husband-wife team that owns Oceanside Cleaners. “Looking ahead, we will use the information presented to us during the CINET awards program to further improve our sustainability practices.”
CINET, the international umbrella organization for Professional Textile Care, organizes the GBPA program as a platform to showcase the latest standards of excellence in advanced and modern professional textile care. Professional textile care organizations from around the world were invited to submit nominees.
Companies from 36 countries competed in this year’s awards program, including Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia, Moldova, North Macedonia, Northern Ireland, Paraguay, Poland, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Spain, Thailand, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Wales.
