A.I – Catching A Tiger By The Tail

It’s only been a month since the Clean Show, but innovation con-tinues, advancing and advancing, at a pace that feels like the speed of light. At the Clean Show, A.I. was a hot topic, with only a couple exhibitors introducing A.I. products and services for drycleaners.

But, in the past 30 days, A.I. has already moved even further ahead.

How does one keep up, let alone get ahead?

Well, speaking for myself, these are my two main methods:

  1. I learn by doing. A few years ago, I was one of the owners of an e-waste recycling business. One of our local Crown corporations declared a few racks of servers redundant and ready for recycling. I received these servers, and in following with the R’s, rather than destroy, I restored, upgraded, and reused the servers. I loaded the servers with as much opensource software I could get my hands on. This, of course, included some opensource A.I. large language models. I ran a cat 5 cable from my house, to the bank of servers in my garage, and began experimenting. Yeah, I run a few private servers. Why? Because if you are not in the know, most of the public online GPT’s use your sessions to train their models, which ultimately gets shared with everyone else, including your competitors. Some of my techniques are rather advanced and I don’t want them to escape my control, so, I can keep my proprietary processes proprietary. And only for my and my client’s use.
  2. I am a member of a very private very exclusive online group.
It feels like it was only yesterday that I met 5 rather interesting dudes with various and assorted skills, but we all shared a burning passion of tech and using online resources to drive sales. This was a little over a year and a half ago. But, in this year and a half, we have lifted off the launch pad, blew by the Moon, past Pluto, and entered into deep unexplored space, leaving most of our respective competitors wondering, what the heck happened? And, it’s all thanks to A.I. and the extremely advanced knowledge within our little group and prompt development we do.

Both of these methods work extremely well, for me, but they are not for everyone. Who has time, space, and skills to run a small server farm out of their garage?

Knowledge is not exclusive. There are a lot of drycleaners try ing to figure out how to use or integrate A.I. into their operations and administration, from creating marketing plans, creating social media content (videos, posts, images, etc.), responding to reviews, conducting SEO on their websites, and more. For everyone pushing the envelope, there are 100 or 1000 experimenting with their best guess, alone. But you don’t have to do it alone anymore. I’m adding a private and confidential A.I. resource and prompt development coaching area to my new website: www.drycleanersadvertising.com so you too can have your own support group to assist you. As much as I enjoy being a member of a small exclusive group, I also can see a need to help those within the industry I love.

As I mentioned, change and development in the A.I world is happening faster & faster.

In the last couple months, Google has made a substantial change to Google’s search results. Google has added an A.I. search results tab. This tab is populated with data accumulated by Google’s A.I. going out on the internet, finding applicable information, and then writes an A.I. generated response. It’s a huge shift, and it is impacting search results and search traffic. See an example of a Google A.I. search result.

How much has this change been impacting search results and search traffic? I’ve seen drops in search traffic from 35 percent or more. If you track your search standing and traffic (which you should be doing as well as viewing reports at least quarterly). If you’ve noticed a drop, you might want to check your website for inclusion in A.I. search results.

Conversely, if you want to be found more often in search results, I’ve figured out how to get your website included in A.I. SEO re-sults. Being included in A.I. search results could increase your being found online by 35 percent or more. And, being found more means being purchased more, so being included in AI-SEO results can pay dividends in the form of increased profits.

Open Al’s Chat GPT has been making rapid and copious changes, adding more and more capability to their A.I. offerings. But one topic of interest that drycleaners might want to take notice of is the increase of use of Chat GPT for not just information, but people are using Chat GPT as a search engine itself. Usage of Chat GPT as a search engine has increased so much that for the first time ever, Google has reported a DECLINE in overall search volume. Again, you might want to check and see if your business is included in results when people use Chat GPT, Claude, Copilot or Gemini. If you are not found, or don’t know how to check, reach out.

There are even more advances with A.I. I’ve integrated A.I. into a route sales assistant that can answer phone calls, answer questions, and assist customers in signing up for pick-up and delivery services.

I designed ‘Maria’ to supplement a drycleaners services, and in the very near future I will also be able to have her add the customer into the point-of-sale system, add the customer to the appropriate route, notify your route driver of the new customer addition, remind the customer the night before pick up, and follow up with the new customer to generate 3 to 5 more orders after sign up, automatically. This adds a great deal of leverage to your operation without adding staff (and staff are increasingly getting harder and harder to find). If you want to experience Maria for yourself, give her a call: 1-(917) 789-1139.

This is a fair bit of information for just one month. As I said, tech is evolving, and it’s evolving faster, and faster and faster. This article is just a taste of what’s been evolving for the past 30 days, I can’t imagine where it’s going to be in the next 30, 60, or 90 days, but we are all going to be impacted by it. Hang on folks, we’ve got a tiger by the tail!
